To apply for a place at Parkside Community School please follow the application process outlined at the Derbyshire Country Council's schools and colleges webpage.
The maximum number of students to be admitted into Year 7 each year is 140 and the school has places for 700 students.
The Governing Body follow the Derbyshire County Council guidelines on the criteria for admissions to the school which are as follows.
Priority for admissions will go to:
- Children in public care.
- Children living in the normal area served by the school at the time of application and admission, including those living in another local education authority’s area.
- Children not living in the normal area served by the school but who have brothers or sisters attending the school at the time of their admission.
- Other children whose parents have requested a place.
Where there are more applications than places available, choices have to be made between students satisfying the same criteria in categories 3 and 4. In these cases those students living nearest to the school, measured by the nearest available route, will be given preference.
Individual students who have learning difficulties, physical or sensory impairment and whose special educational needs can best be met in the school will be given priority where so determined by the Authority in consultation with the Governing Body.
